Pour leur première transatlantique en double en multicoque, Sébastien Josse et Charles Caudrelier ont frappé très fort ! En franchissant la ligne d’arrivée à Itajaí (Brésil), lundi 18 novembre à 18h03’54’’ (heure française), ils remportent la Transat Jacques Vabre 2013. Mais plus que la victoire, c’est la manière dont le duo s’impose qui restera longtemps dans les annales de la course au large. Le trimaran armé par le Baron Benjamin de Rothschild a bouclé le parcours en 11 jours, 5 heures, 3 minutes et 54 secondes, soit une vitesse moyenne de 22 nœuds sur les 5 952 milles réellement parcourus sur l’eau ; un temps incroyable qui n’aurait pas été possible sans un engagement total des deux marins. Ils devancent de 5 heures leurs adversaires, Sidney Gavignet et Damian Foxall, avec lesquelles ils se sont livrés un match sans merci depuis le départ du Havre. Le Champagne Barons de Rothschild fête l’évènement avec toute l’équipe, Bravo !
