GRAND CRU CULINARY WINE FESTIVAL TORONTO

L’édition 2013 est certainement le millésime le plus réussi du Grand Cru Culinary Festival organisé par Todd et Colin Halpern à Toronto. Pour sa 9ème édition en 18 ans, les Halpern avaient vu grand, soirée privée le 31 octobre avec 250 invités et les meilleurs vins de la planète (Petrus, La Romanée Conti, La tâche, Mouton Rothschild, Latour, Lafite Rothschild, La Chapelle…). Le 1er Novembre c’est 2 500 visiteurs, LCBO et journalistes compris qui se sont rendus au grand tasting avec 70 fournisseurs du monde entier. A suivi, le diner de Charité du vendredi soir avec 850 convives qui a permis de récolter plus de 2 millions de dollars au profit de la fondation du Western Hospital de Toronto . Le Lot N° 1, des champagnes Barons de Rothschild (Mathusalem de Blanc de blancs, Mathusalem de brut, magnums de rosé) a été adjugé à 8 000 $ ! Le samedi après un tasting au Hamilton Club pour ses membres,  le Champagne Barons de Rothschild a été présenté  aux 30 dîners privés en compagnie des Docteurs en charge de la recherche des Hôpitaux de Toronto. Plus de 900 personnes participaient aux « wine diner » et plus de 1 million de dollar a été récolté pour la fondation WHT.

The 2013 is certainly the most successful vintage of the Grand Cru Culinary Festival organized by Todd and Colin Halpern in Toronto. For its 9th edition in 18 years, Halpern had seen big, private party on October 31st with 250 guests and the best wines of the planet (Petrus, Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Mouton) Rothschild, Latour, Lafite Rothschild, La Chapelle…). On November 1st it is 2 500 visitors, LCBO buyers and understood journalists who surrendered to the tasting big with 70 suppliers of the whole world. Followed, the dinner of Charity of Friday evening with 850 dinner guests which allowed to collect more than 2 million dollars for the benefit of the foundation of the Western Hospital of Toronto. The Lot N 1, Champagnes Barons (Methuselah de Blanc de blancs, Methuselah of brut, magnum of rosé) was awarded to 8 000 $! On Saturdays after a tasting to the Hamilton Club for his members, the Champagne Barons of Rothschild was presented to 30 dinners deprived together with the Doctors in charge of the research for the Hospitals of Toronto. More than 900 persons participated at the amazing wines dinner and more than 1 million dollars was collected again for the foundation WHT.
